Becky Jennings Mittong

     Becky Jennings Mittong, 72, of Valley, AL, was called home by her Savior on March 18th, 2024.

     Becky was born on January 31st, 1952, in Langdale, AL to her parents, James and Pearl Ruffin.

     When Becky was 16, she worked as a nurse’s aide at West Point Hospital for a while. She then began working as a hemmer at West Point Pepperell in the Towel Dept. for several years. After moving to Milledgeville, GA she started an in-home daycare so she could be home with her own children. After moving back to Valley, she began working as a caregiver for the elderly and did so for 30 years. That was her passion. She enjoyed knowing she made a difference in someone’s life.

     Becky was preceded in death by her parents, James and Pearl Ruffin and her sister Lynne Taylor. She is survived by her brother, James Ruffin (Kathy); sisters, Faye Ingram and Sandra Ruffin; her three sons, Jody Jennings (Kim), Jeff Jennings (Laurin), and Bobby, Jennings (Mandie); her six grandchildren, Josh Chappell, Mitchell, Taylor, Drew, and Emma Jennings, and Shelby Williams (Cody); her four great-grandchildren, Jetson and Jay Rilee Williams and Cali and Alice Law.

     A Memorial service for Becky will be held on Friday, March 22nd, 2024, at 2:00 PM (EDT) at Happy Valley Baptist Church in Lanett, AL. The Reverend John Samanie will officiate.
